Tree of life

The tree of life theme is known in many cultures and religions and it appears in this design from the 1920s thanks to Vasyl Chon, a Ukrainian artist educated in Lviv, a student of Eleonora Plutynska. The art deco form draws on Ukrainian cutouts but the whole gives a very contemporary impression, harmonizing perfectly with traditional interiors and reviving modern ones.
